Country Lover Dancers
SHAKE IT UP
at our
Tuesday Night Dance Lessons

SO YOU WANNA DANCE?
WELL YOU JUST FOUND ONE OF THE FEW COUNTRY DANCE CLUBS IN VENTURA COUNTY!!

Our dances are open to the public and you don't even need to bring a partner. We welcome people of all ages. So come on out & join in the fun!

Country Lovers Western Dance Club is a non-profit organization founded in 1990 by a small group of people who love to dance. Our membership has grown and shrunk over the years, but our enthusiasm has never waned. Our vision and goal is to promote country music and dancing in Ventura County.

We meet every Tuesday night from 6:45 to 9PM at the Ventura Moose Lodge. We offer line dancing lessons and open dancing. Every year we help with collecting Toys for Tots and have raised and donated money for charitable organizations like the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, the Red Cross, Relay for Life, the Children's Auxiliary Foundation, Project Understanding and Food Share. We are proud to say that we also donated money to help purchase American flags for the City of Ventura.

So what are you doing on Tuesday night? Come on out, put your boots on and DANCE!!

Linedancing Etiquette

  1. Never walk through a line of dancers to cross the floor - always walk around the floor or wait.
  2. Remember, everyone was once a beginner; if you can dance, please be patient and encouraging to newcomers.
  3. Don't be tempted to stop dancing to teach, especially if there is no room. Teach off the floor if you can't find space.
  4. When starting off the dance, go to the front so that others can fall in behind you.
  5. Never stay on the floor to talk - if the music has started go off the dance floor to chat.
  6. Don't start a different dance, unless there is plenty of room and you sense it is acceptable.
  7. Remember the floor is for everyone. Try to leave the outside lane clear for couple dancers.
  8. If possible, start another line rather than join one that will block the outside lanes.
  9. Those dancing around the outside lane have the right of way. Please do not block their progress.
  10. When dancing around the floor, the line of dance 'LOD' is counter--clockwise. Never dance against the LOD.
  11. If the floor is crowded, take small steps; enjoy the company, and stay alert to prevent collisions.
  12. And finally, keep your head up, keep smiling and enjoy yourself!
